“Ode of Resilience” is an active symphonic manifesto initiated by the servicemen of the 5th Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is a unique international platform that unites leading Ukrainian orchestras and composers from Ukraine and abroad (Italy, Germany). Our mission is to create and present a new Ukrainian orchestral repertoire that captures and documents, through music, the events of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The project functions as cultural diplomacy, touring extensively, dismantling propaganda narratives, and conveying to the world the will, dignity, and creative strength of the Ukrainian people and their artists.
“Ode of Resilience” is music born on the front line — and it is ready for the global stage.
The “Ode of Resilience” project is led by its visionary creator — Serhii Lykhomanenko, an active-duty officer and Senior Lieutenant of the 5th Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He embodies a unique synthesis of frontline experience and high art.
As the project’s conductor and artistic director, Serhii Lykhomanenko curates and develops new works in collaboration with composers from Ukraine and around the world. He also creates and supervises new orchestrations of renowned pieces by Ukrainian classical composers.
A large collection of unique symphonic works, as well as compositions for various orchestral and chamber ensembles, is constantly in development within the project.
As a cultural curator, he actively collaborates with international concert venues, orchestras, and music festivals to present contemporary symphonic culture united around the mission of supporting Ukraine.

The 5th Separate Assault Brigade is a powerful formation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that stands on the front line of defending the independence and territorial integrity of our state. Formed in March 2022 as a separate assault regiment composed of highly motivated and dedicated patriots, the brigade has become a symbol of courage, professionalism, and unwavering resistance against the enemy.
At the beginning of 2023, the regiment was reorganized into a brigade, and later that same year it received the honorary title “Kyivska” from the President of Ukraine.
During its three years of existence, the brigade has spent two and a half years in full strength on the direct line of contact, continuously performing combat missions. The 5th Assault Brigade distinguished itself in the battles for the Vuhlehirsk TPP, Maiorske, Toretsk, and played a key role in holding the “road of life” during the Battle of Bakhmut. Today, the brigade continues to fight in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Pokrovsk.

Concerts take place in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and other cities, carrying a message of strength and unity.
The project not only promotes modern Ukrainian culture but also supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular the 5th Separate Assault Brigade. Its mission is to unite the international community through art, mobilize resources for recovery and assistance, and demonstrate how music can become a powerful instrument in the struggle for freedom, identity, and the future.
